Carolynn,
We are interested and very seriously considering your offer. Give us until next week to get back to you. We are growing and have some logistical issues to sort out first, like office space. Are you willing to work from home, at least temporarily?

Dear Mr. Puckett,

I am a SEAL wife who has been following the news on Petty Officers McCabe, Huertas, and Keefe. I am emailing to find out if your firm has any employment or volunteer opportunities for someone like myself. I am a 2009 law grad from University of Southern California, barred in California and pending in DC, with a strong interest in criminal law. I worked in a firm in Los Angeles, Dreier Stein Kahan Browne Woods George, LLP, and had an offer to return full time, but when the firm dissolved in November of 2008, I decided to move to northern Virginia to be closer to my husband. With the economy the way it is, it has been tough finding employment as a new grad. I am reaching out to as many people as I can, and in the meantime have decided to volunteer my time doing clinics with the Legal Services of Northern Virginia.

I would greatly appreciate any advice, contacts, or employment opportunities you may know of in the DC metro area, or anywhere in Virginia. While I am primarily seeking paid opportunities, I am also happy to volunteer my time if necessary. I have excellent legal research and writing skills that I would love to put to good use during this period of unemployment. I would be especially grateful for an opportunity to help you in any way I can with your firm's work for Mr. McCabe. As you can imagine, the case is very important to me personally, so I would be eager to help with legal research, or even just to observe your work as a learning opportunity.

Even if you do not have any opportunities available for me, I would be grateful for any time you can take to give me advice or suggestions on my job search. I'm attaching my resume for your convenience.

Thanks in advance for your time. I hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely Yours,

Carolynn Beck.
