I am also pleased to formally announce that my law firm has added two new practitioners who will be working with us on national security cases.

Ilana S. Greenstein actually joined us a while ago (but we never timely announced it!) as Of Counsel. She is a 1998 graduate with honors in economics and political science from Haverford College and received her Juris Doctor in 2003 from the University of Virginia Law School. Importantly for the firm, Ms. Greenstein worked as an Operations Officer for the Central Intelligence Agency from 2002 until 2008, including a one-year tour in Baghdad, Iraq. Prior to the CIA and law school, Ms. Greenstein served in Sarajevo, Bosnia as the Senior Intelligence Analyst for the U.S. Department of Defense National Intelligence Cell. She also served as an Intelligence Analyst for the U.S. European Command Joint Analysis Center, RAF Base Molesworth, England from 1999 to 2000. Ms. Greenstein’s career in intelligence began with an internship in 1998 at the Office of Naval Intelligence.

We are also very pleased to have joining us as Special Counsel the Honorable Barry M. Sax who recently retired from the Department of Defense after 25 years of Federal service. Judge Sax served as an Administrative Judge for the Defense Office of Hearings & Appeals (DOHA) since 1992. He conducted close to 1,000 security clearance adjudication hearings for existing and prospective employees of defense contractors. Prior to service as a Judge, he was a DOHA Department Counsel and responsible for writing appeal briefs, a Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney (1968-1979), mostly as a Major Fraud Specialist; a Supervising Deputy Attorney General, Medi-Cal (Medicaid) Fraud Control Unit Office in Los Angeles (on loan from the LA County District Attorney) and a Senior Attorney, Office of the Inspector General, U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare (1979-1983). Upon retirement, Judge Sax was presented with the Secretary of Defense Award and Medal for Exceptional Civilian Service. He received his B.A. in Political Science/International Relations from UCLA in 1964 and his J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California at Berkeley in 1967.
