In partnership with the National Council on US-Arab Relations (NCUSAR), the Bilateral US-Arab Chamber of Commerce (BUSACC) is honored to present the 5th Annual Model Arab League Conference (MAL). Students participating in the 2012 MAL will learn about the social, political, economic and security challenges of the Arab nations. While developing valuable skills in diplomacy, negotiation, argumentation, critical thinking, research, writing and public speaking, students also gain personal insight and meaningful understanding of issues underlying US-Arab relations.
In addition to awards, outstanding 2012 MAL participants are given preferential consideration for BUSACC and NCUSAR internships in Houston and Washington, D.C., respectively, and for participation in our study abroad programs in Egypt, Kuwait, and Morocco.
This year's participating schools are Garland Independent School District, Harding University, Houston Community College, Lone Star College - North Harris, Louisiana State University, Northwest Vista College, Oklahoma State University, Rice University, Southwestern University, Stephen F. Over 800 energy executives attend BUSACCÂ?s OTC reception, with an estimated 300 executives attending from the Middle East. Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) CEO Faisal Al Mahroos Retires
The Bilateral US-Arab Chamber of Commerce would like to congratulate our Board Member and Chief Executive Officer of Bapco on his retirement after 35 years of dedicated service. Mr. Mahroos joined Bapco in 1976 as a Petroleum Engineer and received several promotions leading up to his promotion to Chief Executive Officer in 2009. We would like to thank Mr. Mahroos for his contributions in the oil and gas industry and wish him happiness in retirement.
