The Bilateral US-Arab Chamber of Commerce is pleased to host the Ambassador of Tunisia to the United States, His Excellency Mohamed Salah Tekaya on a multi-city roadshow through the United States. As the birth place of the Arab Spring, the U.S. State Department has announced a commitment of $55 million and 30 projects to support Tunisia's new economy and democracy. The Tunisian government has an ongoing commitment to developing infrastructure and improving ICT, tourism, franchising and renewable energy. Please join us for an analysis of current trends in the country, as well as learn how Tunisia serves as a model for what we can expect from other countries in the MENA region.

Oman Construction Summit

According to Middle East Business Intelligence, for almost the last decade there has been on average of $7 billion per year of investment in infrastructure in Oman, and an estimated $10-37 billion of spending notionally scheduled for 2012, so we welcome more American companies to come and learn about the opportunities.

2012 Bilateral Model Arab League
Houston, Texas
March 24 - 25, 2012

In partnership with the National Council on US-Arab Relations (NCUSAR), the Bilateral US-Arab Chamber of Commerce (BUSACC) is honored to present the 5th Annual Model Arab League Conference (MAL). Students participating in the 2012 MAL will learn about the social, political, economic and security challenges of the Arab nations. While developing valuable skills in diplomacy, negotiation, argumentation, critical thinking, research, writing and public speaking, students also gain personal insight and meaningful understanding of issues underlying US-Arab relations.

In addition to awards, outstanding 2012 MAL participants are given preferential consideration for BUSACC and NCUSAR internships in Houston and Washington, D.C., respectively, and for participation in our study abroad programs in Egypt, Kuwait, and Morocco.

This year's participating schools are Garland Independent School District, Harding University, Houston Community College, Lone Star College - North Harris, Louisiana State University, Northwest Vista College, Oklahoma State University, Rice University, Southwestern University, Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas A&M University, Texas Southern University, Texas State University, Troy University, University of Houston Â? Clearlake, University of Houston - Main Campus, University of Texas at Arlington.

Offshore Technology Conference: 15th Annual Arab Delegate Reception

Over 800 energy executives attend BUSACCÂ?s OTC reception, with an estimated 300 executives attending from the Middle East. Delegates attend from: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Malaysia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and United Arab Emirates, and include representatives from the MENA region national oil companies.

BUSACC will host the OTC reception, a private Board dinner, a private VIP reception and a country spotlight breakfast briefing. A limited number of sponsorship opportunities are still available and events are invitation-only.

Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) CEO Faisal Al Mahroos Retires

The Bilateral US-Arab Chamber of Commerce would like to congratulate our Board Member and Chief Executive Officer of Bapco on his retirement after 35 years of dedicated service. Mr. Mahroos joined Bapco in 1976 as a Petroleum Engineer and received several promotions leading up to his promotion to Chief Executive Officer in 2009. We would like to thank Mr. Mahroos for his contributions in the oil and gas industry and wish him happiness in retirement.
