RE: [U] FW: RE: ADOS IN SPT OF GCM

Neal,

LtCol Kumagai is totally on board with giving us the support we need. I spoke with him this morning and he said he would do whatever he could do to help us. He said name another 4421, active or reserve and he will try to get that person. I also suggested the idea of a law school graduate awaiting TBS or NJS assignment. He is looking into that. I am asking around about sharp 4421s that I can get here immediately.

The problem is that Bethany is not IRR. You are correct in saying that IRR Marines can be ordered to active duty wherever they are needed.

Bethany fulfilled her IRR requirements a long, long time ago. She is a drilling reservist on the Quantico T/O to my understanding.

MARCENT has no ability to order her on active duty.

Meridith,
Back when you and I were discussing this, you said the SJA was onboard to give us the support we needed and was enthusiastic about getting these orders. Are saying the issue is that Reservists cannot be ordered to active duty for the needs of the Marine Corps? We used to get calls all the time from IRR soldiers who got orders with just over a year left on their contracts because the Army was activating them and needed them. Regardless of where she drills or doesn't drill (who owns her), am I wrong in thinking that? She can only get orders she agrees to get?

Gents,

I did everything I could on this end to work her orders from out here.

The problem is that MARCENT does not own Bethany. Quantico was "hooking up" MARCENT as a favor. So, there is no way to compel her to accept orders she does not want.

Meridith,

Per the below email string, Sgt Trujillo has indicated she does not want to
accept ADOS orders to support SSgt Wuterich's GCM. I have asked JAS to
canvas whether there is a 4421 available to replace Sgt Trujillo, but please
let me know how SSgt Wuterich would like to proceed. Thanks.

Kirk,

I'll find out.

I've cc'd MGUNS DeRouen on this email.

MGUNS, please see LtCol Kumagai question below?

Do you know anyone who may be interested in short term ADOS below?

Perhaps Sgt Clayton. He is 4421 correct?

Kirk, we'll advertise and get back to you asap.

Mike,

Roger, thanks for the heads up. Do JAS have any 4421s who are available to
proceed to Camp Pendleton shortly after Christmas for a month or so? SSgt
Wuterich's team is going to want someone to replace Sgt Trujillo.

Kirk

Kirk,

Please see email I received below.
Ms. Gallagher is Sgt Trujillo's OpSponsor.

Looks like Sgt Trujillo doesn't want to execute the ADOS orders. As you
know, ADOS is voluntary.
Not sure how you want to proceed on this.

The main POC on orders processing is Ms. Gallagher. However, we are JRS,
JAD, are here to assist where we can.

I'm available to discuss at your convenience at (571) 256-4716.

Sir,
Question, hopefully you can answer. I received a call concerning the ADOS
orders for Sgt Trujillo on the GCM for SSgt Wuterich. Sgt Trujillo was
requested by the SSgt, however, Sgt Trujillo has a new job, starting
college, and does not want to accept these ADOS orders. ADOS is normally
voluntary, but I didn't know if there are any special rules for recall for
courts martial. Do you know if the Sgt can decline the orders, and what are
the ramifications, if any? Can she be ordered involuntarily to the GCM?

Thank you Sir.
