Re: Good morning!

This is VERY useful information.  We'll need to talk through this when you're able.

Attorney's fees are reimbursable so long as they are out of the client's pocket.  For example, all the clients who incurred fees with Tully who then came with me are entitled to the fees they paid Tully as well as the fees they paid us. When I ask for fee reimbursement, I ask for the total, not just what the clients paid us - because what matters is what is out of the client's pocket. Anne could have 10 diff attorneys and it would be the same thing.

I'm sure they want their fees back because they are too broke to hire another attorney.  Maybe we could cut then a deal and agree to give back some of the fees in exchange for then signing something agreeing not to file any complaints against us.  I only did that once (at Tully), but they (espec Peter) are just really difficult.

Good morning, Debra,
Talked to Pete Ney until 6:30 last night.  I think they're all screwed up, of course.  But I need to talk to you today to ask some questions about fees, attorney fee reimbursement in settlements, etc, and how that works.  They want to "fire" you but think that entitles them to a full refund of all monies paid if they want to hire someone else, otherwise they won't get "attorney fees" reimbursed.  I know, I don't understand their logic, either.
I'm waiting on a consult to arrive any minute, but can you tell me when would be a good time to call?
