Got interested in helping vic's of DV/SA during undergrad thru her women's studies classes. AV's victim advocate. When AV came in and filed the report. Initially filed a restricted report, she changed her mind later (kind of) after she disclosed to command Re: expected testimony - "your guess is as good as mine" Most likely simply when she came in initially, she filed a restricted report then after talking to command, it changed to unrestricted At first meeting, did not disclose any specifics of the incident Referred to her from Family Services Program. Barton explained options, discussed resources AV didn't want to get person in trouble, didn't want cmd to know, didn't want anyone to know Continued to work together. Was at 1st NCIS meeting, but no subsequent ones Keeps a log (had to get it from SARC at Henderson Hall - already provided to gov't). 8 Sep - first meeting 20 Sep - NCIS (first interview) 7 Feb - closed case and transferred case to UVA Lots of emails, last email was last month S.
