It may be time for the Marines, Haytham and Joey to come out to Michigan to back a brother up.
Haytham is out of the country presently, but I will call him and speak to him about it.

Cheryl,
I read the transcript. I agree. No basis there for contempt. This certainly is also an issue for Michigan lawyers.

Subject: criminal contempt of court charge against student from DP seminar - Jesse Williams
I wanted to ask for any support you can lend for Jesse Williams. Today, he was charged with criminal contempt of court in northern Michigan. Jesse was a student at the death penalty seminar. He also represented Joanie Holbrook on murder charges. Some of you graciously helped Jesse prep for this case where Joanie shot her cop husband while he was sleeping in bed.
I've attached the criminal contempt paperwork and the transcript from the preliminary exam proceeding where the alleged contempt occurred. There is absolutely nothing in the transcript to warrant contempt charges. Jesse was respectful to the judge and the witnesses in this sexual assault case. All Jesse did was to ask if the judge and prosecutor were working together and that he knew the judge was going to bind the case over for trial before the exam started. The latter was in response to the judge questioning why she should let Jesse question the witness on a matter. Jesse argued that it went to the witnesses' credibility which is an issue for a judge to decide.
Today, Jesse tried to go to the court for a proceeding on a different case. The court security guards surrounded Jesse and threatened him with arrest if he did not leave the courthouse. Jesse is a veteran and flashbacks of what happened to him while serving our country flashed in his head. It took all his power not to physically lash out at the security guards. He left peacefully.
This is an outrageous abuse of power by the courts. The judge's clerk filed the contempt charges. Jesse is a fighter and the judges in northern Michigan want him gone.
If you can help Jesse in any way, that would be great. An email of support would let Jesse know he's not alone. His email is jlwdefense@gmail.com.
