Ted,
In receipt. Let's talk tomorrow afternoon. We will select the appropriate
defense counsel. You will get two assigned and we will also pick an another
counsel of your choosing called an IMC. We will discuss all of that
tomorrow.

Haytham,
1. Late this afternoon (1/18), my Commanding Officer preferred, as directed
by IMEF/SJA, a single charge (with three (3) specifications) against me.
The charge was Violation of the UCMJ, Article 118.
2. I have attached a .PDF copy of the CHARGE SHEET (2 pages).
3. My XO, after speaking with IMEF/DepSJA, has advised me that by this
Friday (1/21), Military Defense Council should be assigned. I am making the
assumption that you know all the right Marines to consult, here in CAMPEN,
and will find-out who that Military Defense Council will be; and, that you
shall conduct appropriate liaison with him.
4. My CO advised me not to speak with anyone regarding this charge; with
the obvious exceptions of yourself, himself, the XO, and Colonel Reynolds
(IMHG/CO(Fwd) in AFG). Of course, I'll communicate with my family, IOT
convey the news; but, I shall remind them not to speak about this beyond the
considerations of 'family-business.'
5. I believe you had planned to be IVO CAMPEN this week; and, had also
planned to meet with me Thursday evening. I will look forward to that
meeting.
6. I particularly enjoyed reading on this webpage,
http://usmilitary.about.com/library/milinfo/mcm/bl118.htm how Violations of
clauses (1) or (4) of Article 118 carry punishments of death, or a mandatory
minimum sentence of imprisonment for life. BTW, the specifications of the
charge against me, do include language alluding to clauses (1) and (3); but,
I'm really not sure of what it is that I'm reading.

Regards,
