FW: Agency EEO Case

Per email below, Mark would like to have me as a contractor, which is easiest, but he also wants me to enter an appearance as co-counsel, which I’m not sure works – because that would mean we really were splitting fees.

I don’t have the pre-existing relationship with Mark that you all have, and I obviously don’t want to get into fisticuffs over fees with him, so if we want to set up something wherein we split fees, I’d like to make sure we are all on the same page with this.

I’d also like to get this squared away so that we establish a practice for similar future situations.  He has a handful of EEO cases that I can jump in on, and I’ll likely have a handful of clients with messy clearance matters that he can jump in on.

The easiest thing is probably to bill you out as a contractor. We can avoid sharing fees. I can just bill you at $300/hr and make a whopping $25. I’m always more interested in the working relationship with colleagues and helping the client than making money. One of my faults.
