Fwd: Article 32 continuance request; U.S. v. Bell

Kinda snotty, huh?  Looks like they plan to dot i's and cross t's.
Talked to Bell yesterday.  He has lost all trust and confidence in Meridith.  She got off on the wrong note with him and makes it worse every time she visits.  Told him she works for us and we're handling his case so not to worry.  He complied.

Subject: RE: Article 32 continuance request; U.S. v. Bell

Mr. Faraj,

I need a notice of appearance before I can forward this.  As of now the only attorney of record is Maj Marshall, as she detailed herself.  This is not an attempt to be deliberately difficult--but I do need formal documentation that you are attorney of record before I can take action on any items you submit on behalf of GySgt Bell.

The continuance request is unlikely to be approved as submitted.  No 706 board has been ordered, and there is no guarantee that the CO will order one.  Recommend that you re-submit the continuance request with a date certain.  If the CO determines that he will not order a 706 board by that date, then we can conduct the Art 32 hearing then.  If he does order a 706, and it's not completed by that date, then you can submit another continuance request at that time.

Finally, this is not a Wing case, it's a Station case (our station CO is a GCMCA).

Thanks.

Maj Hatch
