I hope all is well! From Tuesday, 26 October
through Thursday, 28 October, the Marine Reserve defense branch will be putting
on NITA-style trial advocacy training for the Office of Military
Commissionsâ defense office. Our little branch doesnât have
enough members to cover all the in-court judging and video-critiquing
tasks. As I was thinking about who I might beg to help, it occurred to me
that you would be the perfect person to judge/critique military commission
litigation TRIAD training. For our in-court judges, we want to use
exclusively former military judges to give the participants â all of whom
have at least some court-martial litigation experience â a sense of verisimilitude.
As I thought about former military judges who are also great trial litigators,
the name of a certain former military judge who recently cleaned the courtroom
floor using my friend Jason Grover as a mop leaped immediately to mind.

I know itâs a long shot that youâll be in
town and not in court during that training, but what harm could come from
asking?
Is there any chance that you might be available and
willing to be an in-court judge/critiquer for one or more of the blocks?.
Here are the eight blocks during which we have exercises scheduled:
