Re: SIMS

Of course any publicity should be coordinated by counsel representing Carolyn.

I note there is a more catholic issue than Carolyn's situation-the lack of independence of military counsel in the USMC and a sense by those in charge that DC are a pain in the ass (the JAFL story is apposite here) who need to be tamed. Ask Kevin McDermott re events of a quarter century ago.  Ask Colby Vokey about events of 2 years ago. This is  a shameful situation crying out for attention. Carolyn's circumstance is a subset of that matter-concededly an important subset. I am fully supportive of her.

Notwithstanding, if the occasion presents for me to publicly advance the cause of reform I am obligated to do so and will. I will let those representing Carolyn k ow before I take such action. If asked, I will avoid mention of her case.

Carolyn,

We don’t have a problem with you going public with this.  However, we would prefer that you either coordinate the substance of what you plans to share with Rick before speaking with him or that David Blair-Loy or me is on the phone during the interview.

Thanks,,
Sean

General Brahms,

Give me a call and I'll bring you up-to-date on what happened over the weekend at Beaufort and at Miramar.  It appears that the Beaufort defense attorneys have taken the SJA, CO, NCIS, and even the military judge to task.

I'm ready to go public.  My client in South Carolina is ready, as well. I have spoken with his military defense attorneys and they ready but I asked that they make sure that this move doesn't taint the case.

I will try to speak with Sean and/or David to find out when my claim will be filed.  I think that should happen prior to going public. I would like Kevin's input on it and now that Hatham's case is involved, his input will be requested.

Do you have it hard that NCIS was in cahoots with CO and SJA?  If so lets get statements/docs and put that in the response letter.

Do you want to go public?

Please advise..

Email is the best way to respond.  I am going at "high port" today.

Gentlemen,

Of note, the NCIS Report contains information allegedly provided by Ms. Simmons that is not consistent with what she provided to me.  Unfortunately, I cannot testify at the trial because I'm "debarred" from the Air Station.
