Re: Wuterich trial update

Danger,
Outstanding!  I'm getting in on Monday afternoon and will definitely be available on Wed.  We'll do some short and long range planning for the trial.
Guess you're following the Khadr trial?

Neal,
Thanks for the email and info. I am in this for the long haul. I figure we owe it to Frank. I already made plans to be there for the motions and the entire trial. Talked to Haytham a few days ago about the motions hearing and was planning on coming out early in the week so that the three of us could sit down (on Wednesday?) and discuss the division of labor and what you want each of us to handle for the trial.
I understand that you cannot cover any of my expenses or fees. Times are tight and I imagine that you are probably having a tough time with fundraising. I will continue to hit up UAP for whatever funds I can get to cover my costs. Their big direct mail campaign didn't generate anything near what they told me they expected. So I will get whatever I can from donations. But even if I don't get any more from them, I will still be there for Frank. I promised him I would be there to help defend him. I owe him that.
So count me in for the whole show.
I will look at options for lodging during the trial and will check with Mark on his plans.

Colby,
Motions are set for 26 Aug.  Haytham and I have that covered.  Trial is set to begin 13 Sep and sched for 3 weeks.  We'd still love to have your help for any or all of the trial you can support.  We have no money for your fees or expenses.  Mark Zaid is invited out on the same terms.  I'll shortly send you and him info for possible rental in the same neighborhood we found a place, on the south edge of the Oceanside Marina, in case the two of you want to go in together.  They gave us a 2 BR furnished condo for $3000 for the month of Sept.  Bet you could negotiate a good rate for 3 weeks starting on the 12th, if you wanted.
Let us know if you're still in and if so, how much time you can spend with us.  Once we know that we can determine a good division of labor.  Our new detailed counsel, Maj Meridith Marshall, will not have a speaking role, or a seat at counsel table, same as Mark.  But you will, of course.
Hope you're doing well!
S/f,
Neal
