| Team, the NOVA Community Band concert is Friday, 18 Feb 11 at The Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall on the Alexandria Campus (Off of Beauregard Street). It starts at 1930 (7:30PM) and its our annual children's concert. All of the music is by American Composers. We have an extraordinary Trumpet Player that will be playing a Civil War cornet that is over 150 years old on a solo piece that was written during the Civil War. We are also playing Casey at Bat, with an extraordinary narrator of the poem. The children will join us for some pieces and the Orff Ensemble Band (percussion instruments) will perform. The flyer is attached if you are interested. If you can't come Friday, our dress Rehearsal is Thursday night at 7:30PM same place! Marcy |
