Chris, Can you address this Pledge Drive through the SJA network? Read the second to last line, is that the law or just someone's wishful thinking? "I will share the importance of consent and the need to obtain consent with each partner by Asking First and recognizing if they are intoxicated NO consent can be given." Maj Schnakenberg is the CivLaw/Ethics Officer at Miramar. I know him, but would feel more comfortable if you raised the flag on this one. This is like the Sexual Assault presentation and SSgt Vechia's question--Apparently it is either 60:40% or 70:30%, the man's responsibility over the woman's responsibility (~Speaker) rather than a mutual responsibility to prevent sexual assault . As I previously emailed you, we are having some events to bring awareness to Miramar for this important month. Miramar units, please take action on the following: (Other locations, you are cordially invited to participate, but unfortunately, the MCCS money part won't apply... Sorry, it is by location only!) 1. The "March/Walk" is scheduled for 6 May at 1330. The attached flyer has more information. Please ensure widest dissemination so we can have maximum participation. 2. Also attached is the Bystander Pledge. The unit with the largest percentage of personnel that sign the pledge (and who participate in the March/Walk) will get a monetary donation from MCCS to their unit Birthday Ball fund. Final numbers are due by 30 April, so please start getting those pledges signed! Please submit total unit numbers and total pledges signed to Ms. Kamins (cc me) by 30 April. 3. The Leadership Banner will be available all next week (except Wed) for your CO's, XO's, and SgtsMaj to sign. It is located at the Family Services building. Please call Ms. Kamins at 577-6411 before your CO goes to ensure she is there to facilitate. Our goal is to have all bootprints and signatures on the banner by 4 May so it can be displayed at the March. Please let me know if you have any questions, and please disseminate to all the UVAs in your Groups. Thanks!
