Hello to all my âJazz Aficionadosâ & âMusic Loversâ - Dan Sturdivant here & âwhatâ itâs Fall already?Â Wow & as we get ready for the Fall colors & changing of the leaves â weâve got just what you need, to get you in the mood for Fall! Here we go!Â âNextâ Thursday, October 6^st, 2011, means that itâs time, once again, for the City Clubâs First Thursday, Jazz Night Experience. This event is sponsored by the City Club of Washington, in conjunction with the SHORTCAKE Entertainment Group.

If you missed Septemberâs session with the dynamic FrameWerk Band & Show - you truly missed a treat & I played their CD, for my own âSunday Jazz Brunchâ just this past Sunday â Wow! However; next âFirst Thursdayâ we have a ânew group,â thatâs part of the SHORTCAKE Entertainment Group family! Weâre talking about âDCâs ownâ Electro Koustic Band & Show Â(please see the attached flyer), who will bring their own special brand of âJazz/Funkâ to the City Club of Washington, which is located at; 555 13^th Street, NW (The Columbia Square Building), right next door to the Warner Theater. If youâve yet to hear âThe Electro Koustic Band & Showâ anywhere, here in the DC area â trust me, you will enjoy them, as the SHORTCAKE Entertainment Group âonlyâ associates with the very best in entertainment! There will be the usual ânetworking-&-minglingâ â starting at 6:00PM & going on until 7:00PM, in the (City Clubâs) Members Lounge. Following that the âJazz/Music Loversâ will move into the City Clubâs main dining room, for the Artist of the evening, âThe Electro Koustic Band & Showâ â between 7:00PM & 7:30PM. As usual Red & White wine will be flowing & Chef Reid will serve up a Tapas Display that rocks! The cost is; $25.00, Inclusive of Members & $30.00 for guest. Casual business attire is the dress code & credit cards are the acceptable method of payment â âNoâ cash please!
