Sherry -
Since Mr. Stone will be handling the case I am sending over some info regarding me and my firm that may help him in getting the ticket downgraded/dismissed.  I am highly regarded both as an individual and an employer.  I have also attached an article that was written on me and the company in signal magazine, the premiere magazine for federal contractors.  We are the only small business that they have ever featured.

·         2003 – 2009: Diversity-Owned Business Award

A little bit about my record, I sit on three different boards related to veterans: Task Force for Veterans Entrepreneurship, At Ease, and the National Veteran-Owned Business Association .  I believe that it is important to give back.  I also informally mentor a number of small business owners the majority of whom are veterans.

·         Task Force for Veterans Entrepreneurship - The Task Force for Veterans' Entrepreneurship (formerly Task Force, now known as VET-Force) was organized in early 1999 to advocate for the development and passage of Public Law 106-50, the Veterans' Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development Act of 1999, wherein Congress recognized the United States must provide additional assistance to veterans, particularly service-disabled veterans, with creating and expanding their own small businesses, thereby assisting them to "realize the American dream that they fought so hard to protect."

·         At Ease - is a trauma treatment and therapeutic support program in Nebraska that serves active military, veterans and their loved ones affected by untreated trauma reactions and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The program complements existing services offered by military and veterans’ organizations, with a focus on eliminating barriers to treatment for those suffering from the effects of deployment and the uncertainty of war.

·         National Veteran-Owned Business Association - NaVOBA’s mission is  to create opportunities for all of America’s veteran-owned businesses. More than 3 million men and women who have defended our nation’s freedoms by serving in America’s armed forces have made the choice to start their own small businesses after their military service.  We call them Vetrepreneurs.

I give you this information so that you can see the caliber of the business that I have worked hard to build
Sincerely -

Sherry –

Thanks for the call earlier today, I am sorry I was in a meeting.  My concern with Mr. Furlong and Ms Dwerniak (sp?) was that I never heard anything from either person.  The only person I spoke to there was the paralegal and she didn’t seem to be very concerned with getting me connected.  When Eric transferred me over to Mr. Furlong I was fine with that, but that was over 2 weeks ago and they never called me.  So I called them to find out what the plan of action was going to be.  She then told me the case was given to Ms. Dwerniak.  She said that I should take a driving course online and directed me toward the link.  When I went to sign up I noted that there were different courses so I called back to see which one I should take.  I tried to sign up for the one she indicated but was unable to because it was only for people with a VA drivers license.  So I called again.  By this time I am again asking to speak directly to an attorney who understands the case and the situation and can give me a real plan of action.  She then got annoyed with me.  I suggested that Mr. Stone had ideas that perhaps the car should be seen by a calibration expert and she said oh that’s a good idea do that.  I said I don’t know any calibration experts.  She then told me that after speaking with her attorneys since I am so much more comfortable with Mr. Stone they were transferring my case back to Mr. Stone.  Please understand I did not express discomfort with Mr. Furlong or Ms. Dwerniak, I have never spoken to either of them.  I did not express extreme comfort with Mr. Stone, he is merely the only attorney at the firm who has taken the time to speak with me.  I did express to her that although this case may not be as high profile as some that they handle it is very important to me and I don’t feel like it is to them.

So finally, what I am wanting is a plan of action, a prediction of a likely outcome of what I can expect.  I understand that the prediction is just that and not a completely knowable thing.  Which specific course should I take?  What calibration expert should I take the car to?  Please understand that as a CEO every minute of every day and frequently the evenings are busy.  I have many responsibilities and tasks to take care of.  If I need to fit other things in I must have sufficient time to do so.  We are getting down to the wire now with court less than 2 weeks away and still no plan of action.

I am wanting the guidance of an attorney not a paralegal who is clearly guessing at the right answer (not you Sherry, that is directed at Katie).  Sherry at least with you, you have always been polite and understood (I think) what I am trying to get across and have followed through.

I do appreciate your assistance and look forward to hearing from you.  Please copy Terri on everything for me since she knows how to track me down.

Sincerely -
