I called treasury and CBP today. Sean Kane at Treasury who is the person responsible for the file is not available. I left a message on his voice mail and asked him to call me back. Mr. Jim Dignan at CPB was also not available. I spoke to his assistant. He said he knows the case and they are working on it. He will have Dignan call me back when he becomes available. Please contact all the 13 auto dealers who had vehicles seized in January and make sure they understand that if they receive any court documents, they must immediately notify me. The ports want to take the vehicles and sell them so they can recover their fees. They cannot do that without notice to the owners and to Treasury. I can immediately file an injunction to block anyone transacting in the vehicles. In fact, I recommend we discuss that and may be do it even if the park companies do not take action. That will prevent anyone from doing anything with the vehicles. I will keep you updated as I get information. Best, Haytham Faraj, Esq.
