RE: Sam Hamama

Andy,

Thank you for your prompt and impressive letter.  I often find myself frustrated by the inability of people who have never served to understand what it is that we do in our military lives.  I want to tell you that as a former Marine Corps infantry officer, I understand.  I understand that it takes only one mistake, one misstep, one incident of misunderstanding, that could result in the life of one of our troops being lost and the lifelong consequences that some mother or wife or child must live with.  I am going to try the best I can to communicate the power of your words to the Court.

I have a couple of editing recommendations.  You don’t have to accept any of my recommendations because it is your letter.  In either case please print and sign it, then send a copy by mail to the Judge at the address on the letter.  I would appreciate if you would email or mail me a copy of whatever you send the judge.

Here are my recommendations:

1.       Please place the word “Honorable” before the judge’s name in the address block

2.       I recommend writing the word Captain rather than “Cpt”

Best to you

Semper fidelis

Haytham

Mr Faraj,

Attached is my letter.  Let me know if there is anything that should be changed or if I can do anything else.  Hopefully I did not jump around too much, but I was trying to explain the important role he played for us.

Respectfully

Andy

Good morning Lt Kimbrough,

I am an attorney representing Sam Hamama.  I believe he already shared his story with you.  Do you have any time today that I might speak with you?

Thank you

Haytham Faraj, Esq.
