RE: US v. Wofford - trial schedule

Your honor,
I cannot do a trial during the period 15-26 November.  The week of the 15th
is the first week after coming off a GCM on the west coast for an officer
accused of a triple rape.  The week of 22-26 November, besides being
Thanksgiving week and the challenges involved with getting witnesses and
members headed out of town, is preceded by a GCM on the West Coast for a
Major with three charge sheets full of charges.  Both are serious and
complex cases with numerous witnesses.  There is no way that I can fit
another trial in during that period.  I would be committing my malpractice.
I can't roll from one case to the next without a few days to prepare.
Although a great deal of preparation can and will be completed in advance,
there is always trial preparation that is necessary immediately before a
case starts.  I, therefore, respectfully request that the trial be set in
February.  

With respect to the 39a on October 6, Lt Gough will be unavailable because
he is going to be on his honeymoon.  This was scheduled previously and can't
be changed.  I will forward to the court the date of his return.

after the arraignment.
