RE: Hamama Trial

I have a war crimes case thatâs been lingering since 2005 that is scheduled to begin September 13. The judge has made clear that he will not grant any continuances. I expect it to last 3-4 weeks. I think I can safely plan for a start date in our case of Oct 25. That will give me a week or two to prep before Hamama.Â

Iâm in the same boat.  Which means that if the Court has to start another trial on 8/16, then there is no way we can start Hamama on the currently scheduled date of 8/9âI just donât think we could guarantee that it would be over in a week, especially if she only goes half-daysâwhich means pushing the trial back is really the only option.  What is your schedule like this fall?  Iâm fairly open.

We should probably coordinate. I can start earlier but I am also scheduled for a trial in mid July. It may get moved. If it doesn't, I probably will not be able to realistically start Hamama early.

Let me make some phone calls and get back to you tomorrow about moving the trial date up.  On a personal note, I have a trial starting in front of Judge Friedman on July 20th.  I am concerned that moving Hamama up does not leave me any prep time in between.

If we could start the trial earlier with the jury selection and everything else and then go with the witness when he's available. it would help our schedule and I think Haytham has a trial in Washington that he would like to work in also.  We have a spin off on the Highwaymen trial we need to start 8/16.

Carol, thanks for the info.  I think the current trial date of August 9th will work for the witness.  I will double check with him and get back to you asap if there is a problem.

The 2nd phase Biker case was adjourned.  We can start as early as you are available.  Mike, I know you have a witness coordination problem.  We can start as early as can be worked around your witness.
