Recommendations for new Business Development manager

Dear Mr. Hashimy:

Based on our conversation regarding Mr. Woodard, your new Business development executive, I recommend you do the following:

1.        Explain to Mr. Woodard that from now until March 1 will be considered a probationary “snap-in” period.  This period will allow him to determine whether he can do the job he was hired to do in the environment that it must be done in.  It will also allow you to evaluate his abilities to effectively complete the job you intend to have him do.

2.       Advise Mr. Woodard that he has until February 24 to submit a business development plan.  This plan will become proprietary to your company and is confidential.

3.       During this period you should not share any confidential or proprietary information in the event you decide that you do not wish to retain Mr. Woodard.

4.       Mr. Woodard should not make any business related decisions but should be advised that any opinions that he has are encouraged and should be included in his business development proposal which will be used to evaluate his capabilities for the job.

5.       On February 25, if you’re satisfied with Mr. Woodard’s skills and his business development plan, you should present him with the contract I drafted for you along with non-disclosure and confidentiality agreement.

6.       The contract is, of course, negotiable.  Certain provisions, however, are not negotiable such as salary, confidentiality and non-disclosure.

Sincerely,

Haytham Faraj, Esq.
