No, Allen has chosen someone from his district to be his Chief if he should win.  LTC West will be one of the speakers at the CPAC convention this weekend here in DC (I think its a republican get together).  He's a Saturday speaker, so he's gaining recognition and respect!

Marcy,

If Al West wins, will Neal still agree to serve as his Chief?

I’ve been hearing more of LTC West on the radio here in ATL.

Thanks.

Roger, thank you for the update.  Not to worry about me being concerned.  I hope you don't get too frustrated with the process and learning to communicate using bus, University, scientist or engineering vocab...

Neal and Haytham are about to expand the business.  So things are exciting here.  I'm working on business development for C-State as well.  So once we get past the snow and the federal government open for the first time in over a week - really ... maybe things will settle down into spring.

Let us know about the CNN piece!

Marcy,

Just wanted to give you a quick update –

On the D.C. / Monmouth opportunities:

I’ve not passed your resume to Dave Shumaker b/c he assured me that he would get back to me to discuss this opportunity further.  He’s not done so, despite my attempting to reach out to him a few times already.  I’ve done some homework on Dave, turns out he may not be the best person to have to answer to.  Probably best left alone from that feedback alone.

I ran the idea of passing your resume to Dave through Bill Melvin and he said not to pursue the issue any further b/c Dave’s opportunity would not be placing you within a lab, like SEAL, which would be the best place for you to be.  Rather, Dave’s opportunity would likely be to pull you aboard as a “performer”, which I think translates to a temp hire for a specific task.  Bill has advised against this in your best interest.  Then he said he’d like to discuss this as well as some other opportunities that (I am assuming would require an in lab hire) would be a better fit for you.

So, I’m learning that even engineers say “yes” when the mean “no” which is a bit new to me : )  I’ll continue to feel Bill out, but as gently as I know how.  I’m just really happy here and think you would be as well.  Getting folks to slow down long enough to tell you what they really want so you can try to meet their needs has been a challenge.  On that same note, Wade Barker was hired here recently.  He’s landed in our ITTL lab downtown and drives down three days a week, and stays with us in N. ATL.  He’s helping JIEDDO red teaming some of their prospective CIED technologies and has already started to make quite the name for himself.  My point being, I tried to get him hired here, but no one would slow down long enough to see who he was and well, another lab scooped him up.  Marcy, they may not realize it yet, but I’ve got an eye for good people : )

As for my clearance:

I’ve got one other contact that used to process security clearances for her office, PEO of Shipbuilding.  She’s a close family friend and will do all she can to help, I’ve just got to find out what her capabilities are in this area.  I’ll let you know if we need to push further with your firm.

On another note:

I believe the CNN piece we’ve been working on down here will air Wed. night, maybe.  We’ve been given dates before.  I’ll let you know for certain when I know more.  Should be on AC360.

Talk to you soon.

Thanks.
