Re: Lock Down Treatment Facilities for TBI/PTSD

Dear Ms. Atwood,
Â
I will do further research with the resources you have provided. There are 4 major V.A. locations that specificaly treat TBI and PTSD, but they are not lock down facilities. It was brought to my attention yesterday that 2 have been located in Idaho, but they are assisted living and are "lock down" to keep residents with Alzheimer's disease safe. George met with an individual from one of the facilities yesterday and said that he would be okay with that.
Â
Many people have been writing letters to Idaho Senators, Congressmen, Judge, Prosecutor, V.A. and Dept. of the Army in support of George Nickel and the issue of more progressive care for our veterans who suffer from TBI and PTSD. There is even an advocacy organization on Facebook called FREE GEORGE NICKEL. As of present time, there are 810 members. A recent posting by George's former commanding officer in Iraq says that HBO is interested in telling George's story.
Â
Thank you for responding to my message. Hopefully everything will work out for George in a more positive manner.
Â
Respectfully,
Diana Johnson

Dear Ms Johnson, the Law Firm is not aware of any lock down treatment facilities specifically aimed at TBI/PTSD. ÂHowever, here is the Department of Veteran Affairs National Center for PTSD link (
http://www.ptsd.va.gov/Â). ÂThey may have some info. ÂAdditionally, here is an article for the states that are developing Veteran courts -- some of them may have information regarding treatment facilities. If you get an answer and want to get the word out to others I'll be glad to blog the information and send it to other military attorneys. ÂJust send me the info and I'll support the communications effort. ÂÂ
