Lon, Mrs. Rodriguez retained me to represent her son. That's about all I can say about the subject. Living and working in Alexandria. Would love to get Mike's contact info. Worked with him for a few months in 1987. Did no know he settled in NoVA. I'm available if and when y'all need me. S/f, Neal Neal A. Puckett LtCol, USMC (Ret) Puckett & Faraj, PC
Sent from my iPhone Neal,
Interrogative - good assumption you are resident up here in DC? Tim lives Arlington, I live Stafford. We both work in Stafford same team within BAE Systems.
Does OBE mean you just spoke with Mrs. Rodriquez or have in past? Seeings as I've been permitted to run in Waynes backyard for a number of years now, here is the straight shooter question - are you the 30K lawyer?
I doubt Tim wants to, and I know I don't, want to get involved more than to assure the Mom that she is doing all she can. Tim, has direct acess to Mom, not me.
Separate question, if you are up in this neck of the woods do you comisserate with Mike Powell also retired JAG Officer from Corps living in No. VA?

Wayne, I canât thank you enough for the information you have provided. LCpl Rodriguezâs mother is Chilean and is not sure what to do about her sons situation. She is looking for legal assistance; from what she told my wife she was given the advice by Capt Willsky to seek out a civilian attorney. The attorney quoted her a fee of $30,000 to take the case so I asked Lon to see if he knew anyone who could provide her some advice on what to do. Even if she contacts the Marine attorney she does not have the depth of knowledge to ask the right questions and really understand what is going on in the case. I greatly appreciate your assistance on getting us some information on the situation down there.

Lon & Tim:
As I mentioned to you via PHONCON, Lon (and it was good talking to you as always), this is a rather hi-profile case here in JAXNC/Onlsow County NC. It's had considerable local media coverage here and in the areas where those involved lived prior to coming into the Marines. While the Marine Corps has taken over the prosecution of the case w/re to USMC members, there is still local interest in the case. As we also discussed, I'm confident there are several LE agencies involved representing several local/state/Fed(?) jurisdictions.
Below link is merely one of many you can find on the net merely by Googling LCpl R's name.
As the former Provost Marshal of CamLej, and wearing the overarching hat of AC/S Installation Security & Safety (Brig came under me in that billet), I can tell you such a case has a LOT of ongoing moving parts fully in motion at this time. The Govt (USMC) will be have most everything involved with in on a Close-Hold Basis.
Guess my only real question is WHAT does LCpl R's mom want??? Her son is in the Brig and being well taken care of...the CamLej Brig is very well run. IF she's looking for info on the case, she merely needs to contact the Defense Counsel and she has his phone#. There should be no problem with her contacting the Capt.
There's certainly nothing we can do at this time and such cases can often take, as you both well-know, months to come forward to where they are even near adjudication.
Just as an aside, the Ol' Salts in the Local Regiment of Retired Marines go nuttzo over such things, especially when the read about Lance Coolies running around with NCOs and SNCOs. Merely a different Marine Corps (product of today's flawed Society) than that in which we served for so many wonderful years.
Hope the above is of some assistance.
