This is One Unusual Opportunity

Dear Friends,

It is my pleasure to introduce you to a unique opportunity to learn from one of the preeminent scholars and teachers of twentieth century military and diplomatic history.

Specialty tour operator MilSpec Tours has put together an extraordinary eight-day military and diplomatic history tour of WWI, WWII, and post-WWII sites in France and Luxembourg from September 28 to October 7, 2012.

Highlights include departure from and return to Paris, home of the post-War Marshall Plan; visits to Versailles, Normandy, Bayeaux, Reims, Bastogne and other locations to learn about the Meuse-Argonne Offensive that Colonel Marshall planned during WWI, the Allied D-Day invasion during WWII, and WWII Battle of the Bulge engagements in France and Luxembourg; and a special reception at the Hotel Talleyrand that served as the administrative headquarters of the Marshall Plan in Paris.

The group will be led by two experienced military history experts.  Patrick Hinchy will manage the Tour.  He has led military tours in Europe for more than 30 years.  Dr. Mark Stoler, an expert on twentieth century military and diplomatic history, will serve as special lecturer.

You are in for a treat.  Engaging and entertaining, Mark Stoler is the author of George C. Marshall: Soldier-Statesman of the American Century and Allies and Adversaries: the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Grand Alliance, and U.S. Strategy in World War II, among other books.  Also he is the editor of The Papers of George Catlett Marshall, which is an ongoing project of the Marshall Foundation to be completed with the publication of volumes six and seven by the end of 2013.

Dr. Stoler's areas of expertise are U.S. diplomatic and military history and World War II.  His vast knowledge and insights will bring the battles, battlefields and leaders to life once again as he describes the objectives, military strategies and tactics employed by Allied and Axis forces and sets the stage for understanding the factors at play in two world wars, the rise of nationalism between the wars, and the enduring peace that followed the second.

You will find more information on our web site.  Click here to read the full brochure that includes a day-by-day description of the tour and a reservation form you can print and mail to MilSpec.  If you have specific questions, please call MilSpec Tours at (215) 248-2572 or send an email to MilSpecTours@aol.com.  Web site: www.gomilspec.com

By all means, please forward this email to anyone you think might be interested in participating.  I hope you will join us for a special adventure through Marshall's Europe in this sixty-fifth anniversary year of the Marshall Plan.

Sincerely
