Re: Zachary Thompson

Mr. Puckett,

I hope everything went well when you spoke with Zack yesterday. I was wondering if you could give me a time frame for this. When will the pre-trail agreement take place, and how long after that will we know if they have accepted the administrative separation in lieu of trail?

Thanks, Holly.  I had quite a good exchange with Capt Shinn last night.  He sent me the entire file.  Said the reason Zachary was released from the brig is that his supervisor came to the hearing and vouched for him.  He had not heard about the positive urinalysis.  He was of the opinion that had the results of the urinalysis been known before the hearing, he would not have been released.  I concur.  I'll keep you posted.  Looking forward to speaking with him this afternoon.

I just spoke with Zack and he said he would call you tomorrow afternoon around 5:00pm. It could be a little before then or a little after.

Mr. Puckett,

I do have a few questions and concerns.

Zack failed a urinalysis test for marijuana- How will this affect him with his punishment?
Did you receive the money? Because the check has not cleared my bank account yet, and when I last checked the tracking via UPS it said the it was in transit to your home.
Is there anyway to speed up the court-martial? Or is it just command discretion, and they can drag it out for as long as they want?

Sincerely,
Holly Stafford

I am not sure if you can help me in this matter, but Zack has asked me to send him money, and I was wondering if you might know how I should go about doing that.

Holly,
It was a pleasure to speak with you today.  I'm looking forward to helping Zachary.  Please open the attached fee agreement and read it.  Let me know if you have any questions.  If you wish to retain me, simply sign and date it and return it to me along with a check or money order for $1000.  I will begin work on his case when I receive the signed agreement and the $1000 retainer.  My office will let you know when we receive those two things.  In the meantime, you can let Zachary know that he is represented by Neal Puckett.  You'll note that subsequent payments will be due and payable on the first days of April, May and June 2010.
Thank you for placing your confidence in our firm.  We'll do our best to either get him a Separation In Lieu of Trial (SILT) or negotiate a favorable pretrial agreement (PTA) if a SILT request is denied.
Hope you have a good weekend.
