Happy update from Gripp

Title: Re: Wuterich status
Read our exchange.
We need to talk about whether we're really going to use any graphics.  I told him (read below) that we were streamlining, but of course he's pushing for more work and using the standard recommendation from his profession that you can't do a trial w/o graphics.

Brother Neal (I like that),

Thanks for the update.  Sorry about the George-dick you’re going through.  We’d be much smaller too if we didn’t pay 100% of health benefits, which occasionally substitutes for pay checks.  Yipes.

As your forensic artist, I’m advising you that you absolutely need graphics and stuff.

All of our submitted bills have been paid.  We still have almost $6K available to us but we need a new contract in order to bill for that, so you’ve got some bucks to play with in the forthcoming trial.  Apparently, neither Bethany or Merideth ever completed the process of getting us a new contract.  If you can get that done, we’re in like Larry Flynt (whatever that means).

I really want to jump into the case, so find a way, please.  Otherwise I’ll show up every day in my puffy shirt.

Hey, Brother Jim!
You're right on the date, but as of now, I think our grand strategy is to rip up the government's case and present very little of our own case, meaning graphics, videos and stuff probably won't be necessary.
Any movement on getting your bills paid?  I've jumped in Meridith Marshall's shit at least twice since that email where you pinned my ears back.  ;-)
Marcy is doing great and I am, too.  Since we're using Seinfeldisms, the firm is experiencing "shrinkage" and we're back to just Haytham and me.
Let me know if you still haven't been paid and we'll elevate it to the military judge's attention on the 4th.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, your family and your loyal and happy employees; particularly my favorite, Lynette!

Hi Neal,

I just read that the Wuterich trial is scheduled for January 4th.  Anything that I should be preparing for?

Thanks and hi to Marcy, merry Christmas, new year, festivus, etc.

Jim,
Please put all of this in an affidavit and we'll file a motion with the military judge.  You don't have to try to talk to those assholes at Pendleton anymore, either the prosecutors or the contracting office.  The case is being moved back again, this time probably to early Oct.  Bethany, too, has sought information from Pendleton, but apparently to no avail.  Sadly, Maj Marshall (our newest military counsel) seems to have ignored my requests that she "square this away" as well.  This is the sort of ammunition we need to hammer the government.
Sorry for the costly and incredibly long delay.  It's not right, but Haytham and I believe the only force which will move the contracting office is the court.  My office has no leverage or contacts to make things happen.  We can only act through the military counsel.  Our lack of communication with you and Lynnette was more an issue of lack of new information or reply to our requests.  It was never our intent to be discourteous.  I apologize if that was the perception.
V/r,
Neal

Hi Neal,

About two weeks ago, I was contacted by the government regarding my status for testifying in the Wuterich case.  I have held off responding to them in the hope that we would finally get some/any word about our contract status.  Lynette Adams of my office has attempted on more than a dozen times to get information from your office about this without success (and usually never any response out of simple courtesy).

Our last contact was with Bethany, who was very surprised none of our calls or emails were answered, but to date, she apparently has also not had any success either because we have had no updates.

Therefore, I intend to inform the government tomorrow that I will not be available to testify because our contract expired and no additional funds are available to finish our work.

Let me know if things change in the next 24 hours.
