Dear Mr. Faraj: I have not yet received any response to
the email I sent you on November 3, 2011. For your convenience, here is a copy
of that email: Mr. Faraj, Thank you for your prompt reply. I think the one thing that you can
still do to “clear things up” would be to write a letter to the editors of The Plain Dealer along the same lines as
the letter that you sent to Congressman Kucinich on October 18, 2011. Any
letter you send should be directed to Debra Adams Simmons, Editor and
Christopher Quinn, Deputy Managing Editor, Content and Editorial, at Emails: dasimmons@plaind.com
and cquinn@plaind.com Fax:
(216) 999-6374 Please send us a copy of whatever
letter you send to them. Sincerely, Howard Schulman Senior Counsel Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich 202-226-8143 From: Haytham Faraj
[mailto:haytham@puckettfaraj.com] Mr. Schulman, The media will do as
they please regardless of what I have done. They do not like Congressman
Kucinich and want to hurt him politically. I did better than filing of
the document. The first words out of my mouth on the record in front of a
courtroom that had reporters from CNN, AP, AFP, LA Times, Washington Post, VOA
and Hurra TV, is to state that I was mistaken and that Congressman Kucinich and
Mr. Soueid were not on the same delegation. I made it categorically clear
that there is no association between the two. The same AP reporter,
Matthew Barakat, who carried the story was in the courtroom and heard what I
said. Yet, no one decided to carry the correction. There was no
intent by me to cause Congressman Kucinich any embarrassment or negative
coverage. As I told you before, I am a fan and respect the courage he has
demonstrated throughout his career on many issues. I was mistaken in my
information. I have endeavored to correct that mistake. I am
attaching my motion. I recommend you pull the audio from the hearing as
well. From: Dear Mr. Faraj: I called and left a message for you on Tuesday, but I have
not yet heard back from you. I was calling to answer the question you
posed to me in our conversation last week, i.e., “What can we do to clear
things up?” At that time, you informed me that you were going to file a
document with the court that would correct the official record and you were
going to send a copy of that document to me. I have not yet
received that either. You may not be aware of the extent of the negative media
coverage that your incorrect courtroom “proffer” two weeks ago caused
Congressman Kucinich. I have attached an example. Feel free to call me today (any time before 4pm) if you
would like to discuss this matter further. Sincerely, Howard Schulman Senior Counsel Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich 202-226-8143 |
