You can't make this up

Partner,
Was reviewing the Burke record and was reminded of one of the best moments in the trial.  I copied it and posted it on the P&F FB page:

From the "you can't make this stuff up" category. In achieving our most recent acquittal, we called as a witness for our client a retired Air Force Colonel, proudly attired in his Air Force uniform. After he answered my questions, the assistant prosecutor rose from his seat and began his cross-examination as follows (from the actual transcript of the trial):
Questions by the Assistant Trial Counsel:
Q. Good morning Colonel Shaw.
A. Good morning.
Q. I just want to – I was a little confused. I think you mentioned earlier that you are actually retired?
A. That’s correct.
Q. Why are you in uniform today?
A. I served 30 years. I think I’m entitled to wear the uniform as long as I see fit.
Q. Okay. Understood, sir.
