Re: Attorney Estimate Needed

I apologize if my email seemed to dismiss or disregard you in any way.  I assure you that is not the case.  I will give my son all of the information I can can gather to help him.  But ultimately it must be his decision to make.
I do want to let him know though, what your payment options are.  He will be paying for this himself.  Thank you

Ms. Kissam,
My response is short because I am traveling. Your sons case sounds serious and substantial. As you probably gathered from my website, I have extensive experience in military law and criminal defense. While my rates may seem high, I can assure you that I have never let down a client. You can read some of the testimonials that my clients write me on the web site. I look forward to your response and to helping your son.

Ms. Kissam,
My standard rate for a general court-martial is twenty thousand dollars plus expenses which I estimate will be about one thousand dollars. If you're interested in retaining me, please email me so I can call you.

Best regards,

Hello
I am writing to you on behalf of my son.  He is currently in the Marines stationed out of Twenty-Nine Palms Marine Base in California.  Since April of this year, he is being held in the Brig at Camp Pendelton, CA.  He has a military defense lawyer who is representing him at this time, but my son and his lawyer agree that he may need additional counsel with more courtroom experience to work in conjunction with the current lawyer.  As far as the case goes, my son has already had an Article 32 hearing and is currently facing charges at a General Court Martial.  He has been arraigned and the dates for the court martial have been tentatively set for December 5-9.

I am not entirely aware of all the charges to date, but they did include testing positive for Heroin, which he voluntarily entered a drug rehabilitation program for, other various drug-related charges and some sort of computer-related hacking or terrorism charges.  If more information on the charges is necessary, you may contact his military lawyer: Captain Bettina L. Gehris, Senior Defense Counsel, MCAGCC, 29 Palms, CA, (760) 830-6001 office.  My son is requesting an estimate of what it would cost and the terms of payment for an independent attorney to represent him.  As his case is looming quickly, I would appreciate a quick response.  If you would like to speak with me directly, you can reach me at 602-769-6662.  Thank you in advance for your timely response.

Sincerely,
