Dan Izzo - JUST DO IT - SATURDAY 11-1:30 at GO U This workshop focuses on quickly engaging scenes with energy, character and focus. Exercises will help you create an active engaged mindset which allows you to work with, not against, your scene partner and their ideas while retaining your power in the scene. Rationalization, justification, the artificial creation of conflict and blatant efforts at cleverness are replaced with character, fun, energy, emotional power and focus. Jill Bernard - THE FIREBALL THEORY - SATURDAY 2-4:30 at GO COMEDY! This workshop presents Jill Bernard's Fireball Theory and offers exercises to help you improvise faster and harder than you can judge yourself. You will learn to metaphorically hit the scene running and outrun the explosion of self-loathing and doubt like an action movie hero outruns a fireball thus defying the laws of physics. Cook County Social Club - SCENIC GAME PLAY - SATURDAY 2-4:30 at GoU! Cook Co Social Club teach a workshop on scenic game play: how to find comedic patterns and heighten them effectively. Mark Raterman and Greg Hess of Cook County Social Club will teach this workshop. This workshop will focus on the two facets that created the CCSC classes: scene work and game play within scenes Game play was the basis for their signature style and, later, the Cook Co Master Class and Workshops taught at iO Chicago and throughout the country. Jonathan Pitts - WHOLE BODY LISTENING - SUNDAY 11-1:30 at GO U Listen up! One major skill all schools of improvisation have in common is the need for listening. True listening is a whole body activity requiring constant engagement in the improviser's body, brain, heart, and spirit of play.
