I am a legal officer in the Australian Army and have been tasked to represent a Lance Corporal from 1 Cdo regiment charged with 5 counts of manslaughter during a hard knock compound clearance in AFG in 2009. A colleague of mine, David McLure is representing the other co accused charged with similar offences.
Specifically the defence team is looking for a US CQB instructor/senior NCO to comment on the Australian Special forces TTP's with respect to compound clearances generally and also concerning the particular incident in question.
