Chamber Member Brings Gulf Oil Back to Motor City

makkimakkiMaxx Oil Company president Mo Makki announced a new partnership with Gulf Oil this month to return the iconic motor-fuel brand to Michigan for the first time in two decades. Maxx Oil Company will begin converting four retail gasoline stations in greater-Detroit to the Gulf brand immediately, projecting the first two statioons will be completed for the new year. Makki said the market conditions are right for him to begin supplying his own fuel. Gulf Oil is part of the fabric of America, which is highly recognizable and got a vintage, nostalgic appeal that consumers will be draw to, he said. The first two stations to convert to Gulf Oil are in Clinton Township and on 8 Mile in Detroit.
