Meridith, FYSA. This was a question I just answered for SSgt Wuterich. My reply gives our coordinates in Oceanside as we prep for motions at the 39a on 26 Aug as well as trial on 13 Sep. I'm day-on, stay-on until the mission is complete. S/f, Neal Neal A. I'm think that either Kallop or McConnell can summarize your tour well enough to write it for you. I'd simply ask one of them to do it. You DO deserve a CAR, but your superiors should put you in for it. I'll follow up Maj McConnell. I'm arriving on the afternoon of 23 Aug to prepare our 26 Aug motion hearing (continuing on 27 Aug, if necessary). We're setting up our firm base out at a condo we're renting just south of Oceanside Marina. The address is: 999 N. Pacific St., Unit G116, Oceanside, CA 92054. We'd like to have you available to come out there that week to prepare, so please see if you can get off work. I'm staying right through the trial to interview witnesses and otherwise prepare your defense. Looking forward to seeing you then. S/f, Neal Neal A. It doesn't seem I'm in a position to write up a paragraph on my actions of that day seeing things still aren't resolved with me. Check out the attachment "kilo CAR history & comments", the comment by CIV Linda Brown. Adam, the writeups you gave me summarized the several different events that happened that day and the Marines involved in each of those events, but not what each Marine did as part of that event to specifically warrant a CAR. From what I understand, Mrs. Brown (2d MARDIV G-1 AWARDS) needs to have a paragraph on each individual on the matrix specifically outlining what that Marine did during that event to warrant a CAR. I can't do that because I just don't know. If you all can make some phone calls, fire off some emails, and re-construct justifications for these Marines' CARs, I'll be happy to fix it on the submission once you can get the info emailed to me. However, this has to become high-priority to all involved and needs to get knocked out as quickly as possible because this has been hanging out in 3/1's IAPS account for quite a while now. I'd like to get this off 3/1's plate in the next few days. If the juice is no longer worth the squeeze, please let me know and I will just remove it from IAPS altogether. For everyone's SA: -Maj Luke McConnell was Kilo Company Commander when this action took place -Capt Adam Mathes was Kilo Company XO when this action took place -Will Kallop (now civilian, formerly 1stLt) was the platoon commander for a portion of the Marines involved in the action that day -Mrs. Linda Brown works in 2d Mardiv G-1 Awards section -Maj Griffin is current 3/1 battalion XO -Lt Merjavy is current 3/1 S-1 officer -SSgt Whatley is current 3/1 S-1 chief -Capt Chamales is the middle-man Very respectfully, Capt Steven C.
