Re: Hello

Ardalan,
I do know a good polygrapher and we also have a couple of attorneys who handle security clearance work if you'd like to consult with one of them.  Please stop by to see us if you're in the neighborhood.  We'd love to see you.

Mr. Puckett,
I hope this letter finds you well. I see that you have expanded the firm a
little bit. I just wanted to drop you a note to say hello. In my last email,
I mentioned that I got a conditional job offer with the FBI. I submitted my
SF-86, took my drug test, and had my fingerprints taken. Unfortunately when
I took my polygraph exam (required for the TS/SCI clearance), I failed. The
specific question I failed on was whether I have ever used or sold drugs.
While I have never used or sold drugs, my heart rate increased during this
question. I am certain that this stemmed from an incident involving my aunt
being arrested at my parents house when I was a kid. I explained the
circumstances in an appeal letter and I have been given the opportunity to
retake my polygraph. I was thinking of speaking to a psychologist or an
independent polygrapher in order to give myself the best possible chance of
passing. What are your thoughts? Do you know anyone who does polygraphs?

After I failed the polygraph I got a job with a government contractor and
now I am working on the transition piece of the new Walter Reed National
Military Medical Center Bethesda (it's a mouthful). As I am sure you are
aware, Walter Reed is closing and half of the staff is moving down to
Bethesda while the other half is moving to Fort Belvior. Unfortunately, I am
doing admin work. I enjoy working at a military base and on a historic
project but feel I could be better utilized on a daily basis. In addition to
looking for other jobs, I am looking into doing some pro bono work in DC so
that I can keep my legal knowledge/skills intact. If you have any thoughts
or recommendations please let me know.

Thank you again for everything. Please tell Ms. Atwood I said hello as well.

Sincerely,

Ardalan
