Dear Colleagues: I am the Chair of AAJ's Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group. You are getting this email because you have indicated an interest in TBI. The TBILG in conjunction with AAJ is having an outstanding seminar on TBI in Chicago on May 20 and 21, which I would like you to consider attending. This should be one of the best programs done on Brain Injury, not just because of the quality of the faculty, but also the format. This program is designed so that anyone who has an interest or a need to learn about the topic, perhaps because they are now undertaking their first brain injury case, will leave with an understanding of most of the issues they will face in handling a comprehensive case. In order to achieve this result, while making this topic fresh for those who have been to other brain injury programs, we have done two unique things: First, we have devoted the first morning of the program to a basic but comprehensive treatment of the understanding what TBI is all about, a panel discussion called the "Lawyers Teach the Medicine." This morning session is intended to touch on all of the basics of TBI so that the rest of the program will make sense to those present. Second, we have made significant portions of this program interactive, with much fewer lectures and more conversation, panels and an actual direct examination of a neurologist. We will have presentations on Neuroimaging, Post Traumatic Vertigo, Biomechanics, Neuropsychology, Defense Tactics and Pediatric Brain Injury from the founder of the Sarah Jane Brain Injury Foundation. The program provides 13.75 hours of cutting-edge continuing legal education and NCA credits, including one hour of ethics. The program also has special discounts for paralegal attendees and those who want to join AAJ in order to attend this program. If you are unable to attend and know of someone else who might attend, please pass this information along. Members of the TBILG will be following up with some of you with a phone call in the next few days, to discuss this program and our Litigation Group. If you want to make sure that someone calls you to discuss this, please send me an email back and I will make sure you get a call. Thank you for your consideration of this program.
