Neal,So far a lot of people saying it was the right outcome. McGuire said she's happy with the outcome, too, frankly. I'm sure she'll take some lessons learned into GySgt Kelton's trial, though. I debriefed with the members. Capt Hoover was attempting to get their thoughts to take to Col Jackson for a basis to reduce GySgt Kelton's charges or drop them altogether. But, I think Col Jackson is unmoving. I know OCS CO and XO were surprised at SSgt Lopez's result, though. Overall, the members thought the SOP was unrealistic and it was inconsistently enforced. They thought the 2ndLts were whining and that they'd get a wake-up call if/when they deploy in the future. But, the fallout is going to continue, I think. Capt Hoover said the reasons they did not enter into a stip of testimony for Capt Kraics' testimony were "political". I'm interested to find out the details there. Capt Hoover/1stLt McGuire say there's a lot of things they want to say about how the case has gone that they can't say until the Kelton is over. V/r,Bret A.
