Charlie,

I had a telephonic conversation with MMFN Dull and she is supportive of the
parameters of the deal (30 days, federal convictions, reduced paygrade,
potential OTH), so long as Senior Chief admits to some real misconduct
toward her. I think the best avenue would be for him to plead to a few of
the assault charges, or at the very least have a very strong stip in
relation to the hostile working environment spec. In other words, something
that acknowledges she was not a willing participant at some point.

The issue with the retirement grade endorsement I think has to be removed.
I haven't re-engaged Ian since talking to MMFN Dull, but after my
conversation with her, I think this deal is much more likely to move. Let
me re-engage them before you go back to your client so you don't lose any
cred. I told MMFN Dull once we had specifics on the deal I'd e-mail them to
her for her final input. I think she's okay with it as long as he's
admitting something.

V/r,
Courtney
