Eric,

The attached string with Jonathan and me should serve as an introduction.

Can we talk about your experience?

It sounds as if it might be very useful in representation of Khan.  To the best of my knowledge, Jawad is the only Afghan since August â07 (47 by my count) not to go the Policharky.  Quite a remarkable feat on your part.

The hearing before Bates is Thursday.

Hi Kent

I'm still traveling but the person you wAnt to talk to his my co-counsel and one of Jawad's mil comm attorneys,  Eric Montalvo.  We got Huvelle to grant the habeas petition but Eric handled the diplomacy with the AFghan govt and flew over before
jawad and met with the high level officials including Karzai I believe. Absent his intervention, Jawad would have gone to Pol-I-Charki. Eric's email is emontalvo@tullylegal.com. Definitely give him a shout.

Jonathan

Jonathan,

We have a hearing on Thursday in the case of Shawali Khan.

Current practices with regard to GTMO repatriates to Afghanistan being sent to Policharky may be an issue of significant interest.

My understand is that your client Jawad was not so sent â because of your good efforts -- but that he is the only one of the 47 repatriates since August 2007 not to be.

Can we chat about this?

Thanks

Kent
