Neal - If I make a reservation through the reservation/billetting

No need for extraordinary efforts. I suspect you can just get a
regular reservation through the front desk of the billeting office,
over the phone. I'm just a retired O-5. No need for anything
beyond a simple room. Usually Protocol handles O-6s and above,
anyway.
