While you and I (and Al) never discussed this specific sort of thing when
we
were all in AFG, we did discuss the "what if's"...IF our Warriors were to
do
some of the things similar to that which the Talibs do on a routine
basis...beheadings, disfigurations, torture, etc., and even to this day,
our
folks have NOT done those things while the enemy continues to do it with
little negative ever being said about it.

I got this from a fellow retired SF CSM about the incident. I agree with
Vic.
"We go to war with the Army we have. I think thats what Rumsfeld said one
time. Everyone seems very upset about these Marines pissing on dead
taliban.
Do they understand that these Marines just killed them? I don't know the
situation of why or how. They could have chased them down like dogs in the
street. The bad guys might have raped a little fat boy, or killed a young
girl, or were setting up a bomb in the same place some of their brothers
got
blown up. It really don't matter. They are pissing on the dead guys.
We go to war with what we have. Less than 1/10th of 1% of the American
population goes to war. 75% of American men, age 18-24 are not able to
join
the military because they are too fat, too stupid, criminals or have some
kind of mental/drug problem. Most have a combination of at least two of
these conditions. That means the military is getting the cream of the crop
of this generation. How many of the 25% go to college, work on a farm or
do
som ething else is not known.
Me, I'm not upset even a little bit about this. I think I would suggest to
my commander to give them extra duty for 2 weeks, take two weeks pay, then
suspend everything for 6 months or the end of their tour. I'd tell them
that
pissing on the enemy is wrong (they already know that} and that they can't
go around pissing on the bad guys. I think we go a little far on how a few
get caught for doing something like this will affect the whole mission.
This
will pass. Hell, in my short career, at one time or another, I was a
disgrace to my unit, the NCO Corps, and the US Army and I didn't even piss
on anybody.
The talking heads say that this pissing episode will erode the progress
we've made with the taliban. That NOW this pissing thing will set us back.
Obviously, these people don't get it.
I say, If you don't like who is fighting our wars, get somebody else to d
o
it. Send Clintons daughter, send any political persons kids.
Bottom line is that it's no big deal."

THx and to so many others sending various links. As I mentioned in an
earlier Email...several sides forming on this issues as is to be expected.
Much of where folks are standing on the issue relates to when they served
in
the Military. That too is to be expected.
Again, we can't share input from everyone...too many folks coming up on
the
net on it and much of it has language we do not, as a matter of policy,
share via WAYMOR Inc...but...we certainly understand not only the "words,"
but the emotion, as well.
Adding another link here...pretty much the same comments others have
sent/are sending from Congressman Allen West. Having served with Al in
Afghanistan, his comments are what I would expect to hear from him.

Ok, so no one has weighed in on this but I'm so pissed that I am compelled
to do so. Terrorists behead our troops, drag their corpses through the
streets of Mogadishu behead our citizens (Nick Berg) on TV. They, beat,
torture, strip and burn our military men while hanging them from a bridge
and crowds cheer. They kill, maim and destroy with impunity and the world
says nothing. But 4 Marines piss on dead terrorists and NOW the world
wants
to sit up and take notice. Their stupidity is that they had to put it on a
video. All I can say is piss on Hilary Clinton, Leon Panetta, Hamid Karzai
and on the on the world for that matter. Semper Fi!
