Mr. Montalvo was recently featured in the current issue of Gentlemen’s
Quarterly (GQ) Magazine.  The article focuses on the case of U.S. v.
Mohammad Jawad, a former Guantanamo Bay juvenile detainee that Mr. Montalvo
defended while assigned to the Military Commissions.  The article chronicles
the out of court struggle to secure the release of Jawad and return the
young Afghan boy back to Afghanistan.  The case factually and legally is one
of the most dynamic and troubling prosecution efforts by the Military
Commissions.  The results that Mr. Montalvo and his team achieved were
extraordinary and historic.  Mr. Montalvo continues to lecture and write
about his concerns with regard to reintegration efforts and the release of
detainees who have been cleared of all wrong doing and continue to remain
captive in Guantanamo.  His was most recently invited to Columbia Law where
he participated as a panel member discussing Guantanamo Bay related issues
and the future of U.S. detention policies and transnational litigation
strategies.

E, it is out on the news stands now.  Do you have a blog?  I read the
article and am declining to draft a blog until the Firm decides what the
angle is. Timeliness in blogging is important, and if the Firm wishes to
"adjust" any of the author's notions about military defense or your views of
it, we need to do it sooner than later.
