Mohammad Jawad, a former Guantanamo Bay juvenile detainee that Mr. Montalvo defended while assigned to the Military Commissions. The article chronicles the out of court struggle to secure the release of Jawad and return the young Afghan boy back to Afghanistan. The case factually and legally is one of the most dynamic and troubling prosecution efforts by the Military Commissions. The results that Mr. Montalvo and his team achieved were extraordinary and historic. Mr. Montalvo continues to lecture and write about his concerns with regard to reintegration efforts and the release of detainees who have been cleared of all wrong doing and continue to remain captive in Guantanamo.
