Subject: FAR Training at the Vets Ctr - Mar 23-24th

Hello All:

I have been sending you notices about the FAR training we are doing at the Vets Center this week - 23-24th.

Two concentrated days designed to show you how to understand and use the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) in your daily contracting activities including in-depth analysis of the FAR system and key contract clauses pertinent to Veteran Business Owners

This 2-Day Boot Camp also provides coverage of the Legislation that governs the Federal Procurement Program for Service-Disabled Veteran Business Owners.

Each session includes an explanation and demonstration of how to use the FAR for new users and an advanced treatment of specific issues for experienced contract professionals including FAR online for research, reference, and updating.

If you are a small business owner, don't miss out on this 2-Day Boot Camp.  It's a practical course explaining the FAR in plain English. This is not your typical "dry recitation of the rules" training course. This essential course identifies the sections of the FAR key to Veterans and other small business owners and explains them in a lively, in-depth, detailed way.  In the Boot Camp, participants will use real-life scenarios and case studies in an intense, interactive, dynamic environment.

Anyone involved in Federal contracting must really know how to use the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), especially as the number of Federal contracting officers have decreased. The language of the FAR can be obtuse and difficult to decipher, but the mistakes that come from not knowing how to use the FAR are very expensive.

Topics Covered:

How to read and decipher the FAR and how to use the FAR to your advantage
Insurance and Bonding requirements in the FAR
How to get partial payment up front and what to do if you don't get paid
How does the Government really evaluate your proposal
Your Rights as a Contractor and how to use a "Debriefing" to help you get the next contract
How to form & use Teaming Relationships
How the Simplified Acquisition Rules apply to purchases up to $5 million
Nondisclosure of profit margin to the Government on a Fixed-Price Contract
And much, much more

I would like each of you to consider supporting the Vets Group and its efforts to provide entrepreneurial education, small business development assistance, and employment counseling to Veterans and Service Disabled Veteran Business Owners by attending this FAR training class or by sponsoring a veteran by purchasing a seat for $249.

Please contact me today and let me know how you plan to support this initiative by the Vets Group.
