Subject: Check out Lonsberry, Urinating Incident
Lonsberry's article is food for thought. I don't necessarily condone what
the Marines did but I do understand how under the stress of combat,
something like this can happen. Don't be too quick to judge unless you have
been in combat fighting under similar conditions of daily seeing your
brothers killed or seriously wounded by an enemy who uses many forms to kill
and maim to include IEDs. Having a three star general investigate this
incident, in my opinion, is a real overkill. This was not a My Lai killing
incident or even the mutilating of bodies as done by the Taliban. A dumb
act, Counsel/discipline/ apologize and close the book but I know this will
not happen as too many people in high positions are now involved.
